Climate change is the crisis of our time as it stands out as one of the biggest threats to sustainable development around the world. Mitigating climate change and thereby minimizing its disruptions is a key issue to the successful implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The FIWARE Community fully endorses the SDGs and is working hard to help deliver them. With game-changing Open Source approaches and solutions that have become vital to the fight against climate change and are, ultimately, setting common standards for Smart Cities, the FIWARE Community is setting an example for all. Such solutions are based on FIWARE’s Open Source technology and fully aligned with the SDGs.

To showcase the ways in which the FIWARE Community members are on the frontline of fighting climate change, this free virtual experience brings together private and public businesses, and developers to discuss how Open Source technology is contributing to the ability and speed to address urgent challenges and the needs of society and the world as a whole.

The FIWARE Green Economy DAY will feature outstanding keynote and specialist speeches from experts in the field, as well as real-life use cases coming from across the world highlighting how climate action and sustainability can be driven, cross-industry, with an unprecedented Open Source approach.
