Universitat Politecnica de Valencia (UPV) is a dynamic, innovative, public institution, dedicated to research and teaching that keeps strong ties with the social environment in which its activities are performed and, simultaneously, has an important presence abroad. Today, over 39,000 members integrate our academic community: 35,000 of these are students, 2,387 are teachers and 1,593 belong to administration. UPVLC includes 15 faculty centres: ten schools, three faculties, and two higher polytechnic schools (Alcoy and Gandia), and five associated institutions. UPV contribution to PIXEL will come from the Distributed Real Time Systems Lab (DRTSL) which belongs to the Communications Department. The department is composed of several research groups whose activities include a big number of fields within ICT, such as: Internet of Things, mobile communications, distributed real time systems, or broadband networks. \n\t\t\t\tXLAB is a Slovenian R&D focused SME, with a strong commercial background. XLAB Research group is recognized as one of the strongest computer science research teams outside the academic world in Slovenia. It employs 30+ people; a quarter with a Ph.D. and the vast majority with M.Sc. or B.Sc. degrees. Created in 2014 and supported by Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, CATIE (Centre Aquitain des Technologies de l’Information et \u00c9lectroniques) is a center for technologic transfer specialized in digital technologies. With a mission to provide support for Nouvelle-Aquitaine’s companies in the process of adopting and integrating digital technologies, it completes regional initiatives by focusing on the transfer needs.<\/p>

CATIE has a multidisciplinary approach and focuses on SME’s needs through three fields of action : human factors and cognition, information technology (including Big Data and Artificial Intelligence) and digital systems (electronical, software and industrial dimensions).<\/span><\/p>

CATIE’s missions are achieved through research and transfer programs, but also through the implementation of technological plateforms. \n\t\t\t\tThe Faculty of Medicine (MedRi) of the University of Rijeka (UoR) (MEF) is the largest faculty within the University of Rijeka. SDAG is the company that manages, on behalf of the municipality of Gorizia, the intermodal and logistic premises located in Gorizia, on the border between Italy and Slovenia. The system is placed at the meeting point between several traffic axes, to and from the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe, in proximity of the Eastern Adriatic ports system and Trieste Airport. Through the new A34 motorway (Villesse-Gorizia), the system is directly connected to the Italian motorway network both westwards (Venice \u2013 Milan \u2013 Bologna), and northwards (Austria and Bavaria). The H4 motorway Razdrto-Vtojba connects the terminal with the major Slovene roads towards Ljubljana.<\/p>

SDAG logistic complex includes the Truck Terminal, the S.Andrea Frontier Station and the Intermodal Terminal and covers a surface of 600,000 square metres, offering a wide range of services to logistics and transport sector. In particular, the Truck Terminal has been set up to fulfil the function of a service centre for goods, for the storage and the consolidation of loads, while the S.Andrea frontier station constitutes a modern and well equipped system for offering stop-over services to heavy traffic. The Intermodal Terminal is located on the Gorizia-Nova Gorica international line, connecting Gorizia railway station to Vrtojba railway station; it comprises approximately 38,500 square metres of paved, fenced and well-lighted yards, equipped with a security system to monitor entries and exits. Five internal railway tracks totalling an operational linear length of over 1,750 metres connect with the 3,000-square-metre intermodal warehouse, equipped with a 25-ton bridge crane and 5-ton fork-lifts. \n\t\t\t\tGPMB is located on the Atlantic coast, in the city of Bordeaux (France) where the urban-port integration is crucial. GPMB ranks 7th of French ports and is located on the largest Natura 2000 European estuary. It totals 2% of French maritime traffic, i.e. 8 to 9 Mt\/year.\n\nLocated just outside of Bordeaux, Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine capital whose population will shortly reach 1 million, GPMB is the focal point of a dense network of communication by river and sea, by air, by rail and by road. GPMB is a core port of the TEN-T (Trans-European Network of Transport) and belongs to the Atlantic Corridor. Several European projects have been successfully conducted to improve the maritime transportation and to lower their environmental impacts: TCSO (study of an unique terminal container in Le Verdon), PEEPOS Startup (energy audits within port area), Rail2Bordeaux (works to renew the Amb\u00e8s railway) or GIRONDE XL (works to accommodate larger ships).\n\nGPMB has also developed a Port Community System software called VIGIEsip.
