SUMMARY:Forum VLC TECH
DESCRIPTION:     \nForum VLC Tech was held at the Edificio del Reloj del Puerto de Valencia in September \,25th-26th\, and will join a relevant sample of leading companies in industry and technology\, such as Continental\, Hyster\, Ford\, IBM\, RobotNik\, iTeam\, Oracle\, Navantia\, Acciona\, Innovae\, Nowwatio\, Zima Robatics\, among others. \nThe main aim was to build a technological reference event in Valencia across the industrial sector\,  with an innovative approach based on ‘in-situ’ demos\, showrooms\, workshops\, presentations and round tables.\nForum VLC TECH 2019  exposed and analysed state-of-the-art technologies in the fields of Artificial Intelligence\, Machine Learning\, Advanced Artificial Vision\, Blockchain\, Drones\, Cybersecurity\, Collaborative Robotics\, Augmented and Virtual Reality\, all of them applied to different industrial sectors. \nPIXEL was present from the coordination (UPV) and technical coordination (PRO)\, as there was demos related to port activities and port operations\, including the Port of Valencia. UPV was in fact also there presenting 5G technologies from one of its research institutes. \nIt was an interesting and strategic event to assess (at least) the local market. Most of the demos were applicable to the industrial sector in general\, but to ports in particular. There was one interesting talk about alternative energy sources for container handlers which showed direction to green port initiatives. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning was a core topic and is expected to impact all industrial sector in the upcoming years. The roundtables were also remarkable in terms of difital transformation and cybersecurity. Even other technologies not targeted in PIXEL (e.g. blockchain) were worth listening.
